One quote from the Providence Journal ends, "...House of Representatives... will deserve to stand well in the eyes of all good citizens for the summary manner in which it has disposed of the malevolent ravings of Thomas R. Hazard, who seems never happy except when aspersing and defaming the characters of men whose shoes he is not worthy to unloose." This copy is signed in ink, "Hon. J. R. Bartlett".
